Die Liste nicht mehr erhobener Steuerarten soll einen Überblick über alle nicht mehr zeitgemäßen und mittlerweile abgeschafften Steuern bieten. Die Liste ist und wird niemals abschließend sein können, weil die Herrschenden, die zur Steuererhebung ermächtigt waren, immer auch besonders einfallsreich in der Kreation neuer Steuerarten waren.

Die beiden Ortschaften aus der Fairy Werbung haben einen eigenen Wikipedia Artikel!
Villarriba und Villabajo sind zwei fiktive spanische Dörfer, die einer Reihe von Werbespots für das Handgeschirrspülmittel Fairy Ultra als Schauplatz dienen. Die Namen bedeuten im Spanischen das obere bzw. das untere Dorf (villa = Dorf und arriba = oben bzw. bajo = unten). Außerdem werden Assoziationen mit dem Ausruf „Arriba!“ („Auf geht’s!“, in Deutschland z. B. bekannt durch Speedy Gonzales, die schnellste Maus von Mexiko) bzw. dem spanischen Wort „trabajo“ („Arbeit“) geweckt und damit auf die vergleichsweise schnell bzw. mühselig vonstattengehende Spülaktion angespielt.

Der Sumpfmann ist ein Gedankenexperiment um das Problem welches sich auch beim Beamen von Menschen stellt.
Das Gedankenexperiment des Sumpfmannes von Donald Davidson baut auf der Zwillingserde von Hilary Putnam auf und bekräftigt das Konzept des semantischen Externalismus. Vorgestellt wird es in dem Aufsatz „Knowing One’s Own Mind“, der 1987 von Donald Davidson veröffentlicht wurde.

Goodhart’s law is an adage named after British economist Charles Goodhart, who advanced the idea in a 1975 article on monetary policy in the United Kingdom, Problems of Monetary Management: the U.K. Experience: Any observed statistical regularity will tend to collapse once pressure is placed upon it for control purposes. It was later used to criticize the British Thatcher government for trying to conduct monetary policy on the basis of targets for broad and narrow money.

This list of animals with fraudulent diplomas includes nonhuman animals who have been submitted as applicants to suspected diploma mills, and have gotten a diploma, despite not achieving academic success. On occasion, they have been admitted and granted a degree, despite not doing any classes, as reported in reliable sources. Animals are often used as a device to clearly demonstrate the lax standards of the awarding institutions. In one case, a cat’s degree helped lead to a successful fraud prosecution against the institution that had issued it. On occasion, accredited institutions may have awarded mock degrees to animals for humorous purposes (e.g. UNSW awarded a dogtorate, not doctorate, degree to a dog); such cases are not included below.
